Solar Rebate Program

The Solar Rebate Program has proven very popular. Due to the large volume of rebate applications, the state has exhausted the available funding. The Florida Legislature did not appropriate any funding during the 2010 Regular Session for the Solar Rebate Program and the program will sunset June 30, 2010. Pursuant to Sections 377.801-377.806, Florida Statutes, the Governor’s Energy Office, will continue to accept and process applications until June 30, 2010, placing them on a waiting list in the event there are funding opportunities in the future.

The Solar Energy Systems Incentives Program, or the solar rebate program, was created in 2006 by the Florida Renewable Energy Technologies and Energy Efficiency Act. The four-year program is designed to encourage residents and businesses to invest in solar energy technologies by providing rebates for purchase and installation of solar energy systems in homes and businesses.
